Sonoma, CA – Bundschu Company, the oldest family-owned winery in California and newest Regenerative Organic Certified(R) vineyard, is thrilled to announce significant expansions in its national distribution network alongside key developments within its sales team and the national launch of Gundlach Bundschu Sauvignon Blanc.
First, in recognition of his outstanding contributions and leadership within the company, Hernan Valverde has been promoted to Director of Sales, East and Central. Valverde’s knack for fostering rapid connections and trust makes him well-suited to drive Bundschu Company’s sales initiatives forward. His commitment to charitable causes shines through; he passionately promotes the wine nationwide, partnering with charities that resonate with the company’s values. Hernan is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In addition to Hernan’s new role, Bundschu Company is proud to welcome Laura Tisdale to its team as the Central Regional Sales Manager. With a proven track record of driving sales growth and fostering valuable distributor relationships with over 20 years working with the Gallo family, Tisdale brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role. Based in Austin, Texas, Laura will be teaming up with Hernan to represent GUNBUN and Gundlach Bundschu wines throughout the central region.
“Having the right team is crucial to building strong customer connections, which are at the heart of everything we do at Bundschu Company,” Chief Revenue Officer Jessica Curotto said. “Over the past five years, we’ve made some key strategic decisions, including the launch of the GUNBUN brand in 2023, the repositioning of our legacy Gundlach Bundschu brand, and our recent Regenerative Organic Certification. This evolution is inspired by aligning our products with the needs of our current and future customers. Making people happy is at the core of our success, and we’re excited to continue sharing our passion for wine with our fans around the country.”
With these new resources, Bundschu Company is excited to announce partnerships with several new distributors, expanding its presence in key markets, including:
- Vermont, in partnership with Baker Distributing
- New Hampshire, in partnership with Ruby Wines
- Connecticut, with Wilson Daniels
- Rhode Island, relaunching with Mancini Beverage
- North and South Dakota, relaunching in collaboration with RNDC
Additionally, building on the success of its new brand, GUNBUN, Bundschu Company announces key placements in retail giants such as Target, HEB, Total Wine, and ABC Fine Wines, among others. This expansion underscores the growing popularity and demand for the GUNBUN portfolio as a favorite amongst next-gen wine consumers.
Finally, Gundlach Bundschu is releasing its first Sauvignon Blanc in the national market as the portfolio continues to shift focus to their Bordeaux roots. Made in the old-world style inspired by the family’s heritage, the wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, and sourced from the Sonoma Coast, with the core of the blend coming from the Bundschu family’s Regenerative Organic Certified(R) vineyard in Sonoma Valley.
